Default Best tyres for winter trackdays?

Hi guys, im going to be doing a few trackdays over this winter. The first is Donnington on the 29 Dec, at the moment ive only got a set of half worn Toyo Proxes on 17's.
Im not sure what will be best to fit, and how would i get on with my existing tyres presuming it wont be raining but very cold?
It will also be my first trackday so will be taking it carefull.
Cheers Dave

I have used Dunlop Sportmaxx & now Ultrac Sessantas nd they both seem to be good wet & cold tyres

Ultrac are a lot cheaper mate, I paid around £100 for 235/40/18s, the Dunlops were circa £150

Get a tyre pressure gauge, you'll see after a session your pressures rise, so make adjustments when the tyres are hot. Noticed mine went up by 10psi but that was on r888s.

You can get a gauge with release from eBay for a tenner, great bit of kit
