Default 2.5 STi box different from 2.0 STi box?

I have just bought an Exedy Pink Box clutch from Bob (Aztec Perfomance).

Is there a difference in clutches between my 2.5STi and the 2.0STi? I am asking because I see on some websites it says 'not for 2.5's' ???????

Yes, the OEM 2.5 clutch plate is beefed up over the 2.0 model to deal with the extra torque... and quite a bit extra on top.

I wouldn't be surprised if the pink clutch kit is the same as the 2.5 OEM kit, but that's marketing for you.

I think they changed for 2006 onwards (but it's late).

Is yours pre or post?

Mine is post 2006.

I think the pre 2006 clutches are push type whereas the clutch I require is a pull type.

Bob, can you double check which type of clutch you have in stock please?

The STi clutch is a pull type whether 2.0 or 2.5 and is 240mm diam.
It was the 2.5 WRX that changed its clutch type from pull to push on the 2006 (Hawkeye) model.
Where you've seen "not for 2.5" probably refers to WRX applications (5 spd 230mm).
