Worth repairing a rear diff ??
My rear diff is whining a bit and am getting a little concerned.
The 'whine' happens from about 40mph and can be heard both on and off throttle.
My girlfriend had a 307 (I know very different vehicle) and her box started whining after 40k miles and that was repaired by replacing a bearing.
My question is : Is it worth removing the rear diff and replacing the bearing with a genuine subaru kit which is under £100 or is it not likely to fix the whine and I will still end up spending a a few hundred on a replacement diff.
I am using a UK 6 speed box on a version 4 type r and do the occassional bit of drag and track.
All input appreciated.
