Default Nokian tyres

Are Nokian WRG2 tyres directional?

I notice they have inside and outside written on the sidewall, but they also have a slight ^ pattern to the tread on one side of the tyre. Normally the ^ goes forward, but if I fit them as per outside/inside then one side will be ^ and the other side will be v which doesn't seem right.

Can anyone advise?

I can't answer your question, but have you found anyone that can supply them? I've ordered from two supplier who have back and said they don't have them in stock.

http://www.nokiantires.com/faq

From the above link I found this:-

'I purchased the WR G2 but one side looks like it is mounted facing the wrong direction. Has the installer made a mistake?
No. The tires are marked to advise the installer which shoulder should be facing outward. This marking can be found in the tread groove of the center rib. The traction and performance are dependent on the compounds found in different parts of the tread more than the tread design. This tire is not directional despite an appearance that may lead you to believe otherwise.'
