Default Tire size???

Hi guys,

Getting in need of some new tyres for my 05 WRX wagon.

I've got the standard wheels on the car with 215-45-17 tires at the moment.

I'm looking at getting a set of Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas all round after good reviews, but the nearest size they do is 225-45-17 Is this a wise move? or am I better looking again at what tyre to put on my scooby?

you can put 225s on but on the wrx wheels they look bulgy if you know what i mean . id stick with the 215s mate and find another brand that can accomodate the size

O.K. can anyone recommend me a decent tyre that won't break the bank.

I've now also looked at pirelli p zero asimmetrico, but yet again they don't do 215/45 R17's

It's seems any tyre I find with a decent review isn't available in the size I want.

Thankyou in advance.

That's what I have on ATM, But I've killed them in under 12K. That's not 12K of smoke making miles. A few enthusiastic moments but generaly calm driving. I'm 40 now don't get excited that often LOL ;-)

I can recommend Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetrics.

Great tyre, good grip in all conditions and much better 'road feel' than old Eagle F1 GSD3s.

Thankyou for the recommendation. These tyres are great. Paid £107 each fitted. So much more grip than the falkens I had on before. A little more road noise, but nothing worth complaining about, especially on a scooby :-)

225's on 17's are fine. Have been there and done that. Its only 10mm anyway!
The way I see it is it protects the wheel as well. I would rather scuff a tyre than the wheel rim!
