powder coat on calipers

Default powder coat on calipers

as per the title has anyone or know anyone who has ever powder coated there brake calipers, any opions on how they lasted or good bad points

It has been done, but needs completely stripping down and all the bores and holes blocking off, some of the caliper reconditioners offer it as an extra cost to the usual zinc or painted finish. Only worth doing if completely reconditioning the calipers though.

And why would he want to do that if he only wants to change the colour of his calipers

i am overhauling the calipers with new seals and new pistons etc, never gave it a thought about powder coating until today when i dropped them off to be blasted so i could re do and re paint them and the guy there said about coating them aslong as i stripped them down completley, which got me to thinking would they look and last longer powder coated over painting them

Because he will refurb ur cailpers and spray them etc

Because he offers a refurbishment service.. Just an idea. He's done a set of Brembo's for me before and the finish/quality is amazing.
