TRAFIC LIGHT CAMERAS

Anyone know when the cameras at trafic lights are set to take a pic....you know the cenario...lights go amber in the shall I shan't I zone....if you decide to go and the light goes red....when does the camera trigger...as it changes or what?....

Usually a moment after they have gone red. If you cross on Amber you should be fine.

Generally active half a second after the light goes red. Takes two pictures - one as you cross the piezo wires on the stop line, the other half a second later to prove that you continued onto the crossing.

Why would you want to jump them anyway?

You should always expect the lights to change, and approach with caution.

And when you stop you might just be lucky enough to have an old dear in an old metro pull up next to you and look like she wants a blast off from the lights.

Grrr, I'll show her...que the emergency start.

It's not a case of red light jumping...more a case of unease going through amber lights...you can't stop at all ambers or some idiot is bound to give you a back ender...the question was one asked out of curiosity,as more lights get cameras...
