Default Knocking Shocks - Replacement Out of Warranty?

Hi,

The knocking rear shock problem has reared it's ugly head again (3rd time!). When I had the last set fitted I enquired as to whether the part came with a warranty, as the car itself was shortly going out of warranty. I was informed that the new shocks came with a years warranty and they would be replaced if they failed again within a year irrespective of whether the car was in warranty.

Now this was a year and three weeks ago that I had them fitted (sods law), meaning they are three weeks out of warranty.

Has anyone had any luck getting a dealer, or IM Group to replace the shocks out of warranty?

If they won't fix it for me, what's the best way of sorting it. Replace shocks? Coilovers? What would you recommend, and from where?

Cheers
