Default Is my diff 4.11 or 4.444 please?

Car is MY98 type R V4 with DCCD.
Splitpin and a few others have told me its 4.11 but the charts say 4.444.
I need to be 100% as have someone interested in buying it on ebay.
Many thanks.

Its a 4.44 of that I am 110% certain. I have a version 3 Type R and that had a 4.44 rear diff.

If he's after a 4.11 point him in my direction I have one boxed and ready to go.

The only way to be 100% sure is to count the revolutions the input shaft does to one full rotation of the driveshaft splines.

best done when removed from the car....

Mark one of the internal driveshaft splines and mark the flange that connects to the propshaft.

Rotate the propshaft flange and note how many rotations to complete one full rotation of the internal driveshaft spline.

just over 4 complete rotations = 4.10 diff
almost 4 1/2 rotations = 4.444 diff

HTH

Cheers
Rob

The Type R uses the larger R180 rear diff.

a 4.11 ratio is not available in an R180 for an Impreza.

Therefore it is definately, without doubt a 4.444
