Red face Will Gearbox Fit??

Hi Just found out that the gearbox has gone and I am looking to replace and was wondering if someone could tell me if a gearbox from a 1999 2.0 would fit my 1996 2.0 sport awd?

Also what would be my gearbox number? would is be the ty752-xxxxxx the other gearbox is ty754, what is the difference

also is it possible to change the bell housing from one gearbox to another?

Any help appriciated
cheers

hi there, gearbox will fit but you need to check the rear diff ratio is the same as the one fitted to your car. The ty752-xxxxxxx is your gearbox number, the ty754 is a stronger box. Bell housing is part of the gearbox casing so not sure why you would want to change it, hope this helps
