Default lets talk clutches

hey folks i have a 03 STI UK - it has md321T running at 1.7bar (with all supporting mods) possibly except clutch

As i havent had it RR (had it remapped though) i am unaware of how much torque im gettin

now i purchased a used (<500 miles covered - never launched) AP racing organic clutch

now as im aware this clutch is only rated to 360flbs (please correct me if im wrong)

it has seen some abuse (FFS & a couple of trackdays)

now im getting my meth map soon 10 - 15% and im hoping to get quite a bit more torque out of the old beast (though the meth map will only be used on trackdays - i hope)

what are the tell tale signs of a failing clutch, also what will i be looking at (price wise) for a clutch that is well capable of over 400flbs

cheers

steve

Depends on condition. I know two people facing £900 bills for replacement both discs and the top plate. When you can get finally them...

Hyper single is rated to 432 ftlbs IIRC I'll let you know if mine holds

dunx

P.S. When my OEM clutch cried enough at 360 ft.lb's it slipped at 4500 rpm in top on a decently steep hill, then the same in fifth, and I gave up when it did it in fourth... HTH

This maybe helpful. Although it's for an Evo 6 - 9 i'm sure the graph would be the same for a scooby............. http://www.exedy.co.uk/techinfo/EvoSpecs.pdf

They are actually rated higher than people sometimes quote, especially for road and track use
