Hi,

got some serious issues with my motor not wanting to start,
its a 95wrx with a red top engine,
its as if its over fuelling as when it eventually does starts its backfiring and spitting back and generally running like a bag of bolts,
have tried swapping the Maf,
Ecu,
Lambda sensor,
and checked operation of a few other sensors, all seem to be in working order.
new plugs were fitted about 200 miles ago, also the decat pipe was removed at this time.(mot Due)

does anyone know where i can access a ecu wiring diagram??

help appreciated.

 

Could be one of the many sensors that is fubard, have you done the diagnostic check??

Done the diagnostic check but nothing coming up at all,
my mechy is pretty competant, i sctually bought the car from him 3 years ago, pretty much trouble free motoring since, until now that is........
just getting to the stage that we are getting stuck between a rock and a hard place now tho after checking sensor after sensor, i take it the sensors have an operating range? out with this they should show a fault im guessing? is there any failing sensors that wouldnt show on the diagnostic check?

There seems to be a lot experiencing these problems lately, but with no real answers

 

yeah i now the feeling but mine only does it first time it start it takes a few seconds and then is fine every time i start until the next morning, no power loss no bag of bolts just a weird

 

As you have no CEL or fault codes showing, I would be taking the plugs out and checking the condition and gaps (0.8mm) and checking all leads and coil packs. It will take you an hour tops, gotta be worth a look

 

That is what mine's is like dude, p***es me off, turn key turns over rough, turn key off, then turn again and fires up perfect,

 

does it bump start? if it does could be crank or cam sensor, take them out & give them a clean

 

Aye the plug gaps were checked prior to them getting fitted 200ish miles ago,
Not sure if it bump starts as its been in my mechys garage for last 2 weeks.
It all started one afternoon when i went to start it from cold and it didnt want to start, as a mate had Maf issues and his symptoms sounded similar i thought i would try and un plug it to see what like. started no bother, drove 1 mile down the road sand it started back firing, poping as it were over fuelling, pulled over, plugged Maf back in and no difference so managed to drive it a few miles home and it sat for 2 days until the mechy picked it up, He managed to drive it the 2 miles to his garage but only just, and now it bearly starts but when it does its rough as F**k, popping, and backfiring,

Heads done in with it, but in fairness not as much as my mechys..............
