yeah you can have it turned off either by your mapper or by using some open source software and a tactrix cable.

The sensor in the up pipe is for the cat temp i.e a cat on fire warning. If you remove the upipe and replace it with a decat uppipe then all you need to do is remove the EGT sensor and unplug it, then put a 2.2k ohm resistor across the plug on the car side. This fools the ECU into thinking the cat temp is at a nominal safe value.
