Is anyone going??



I`ve spoken to Gordon who orginises it, and I have 2 club stands there.
One for www.VVOC.com (Vectra Owners), and one for www.rubba-duck.com (my own pretty new website) both have 20 places on stand, and I can organise more if needed.

You can either join in with rubba-duck, with loads of different makes/models, or I can pass the clubs details to Gordon and South Wales Scoobies can have a stand too (haven`t heard anything about this on here so I dunno if you have or not).

Either way should be a good day as I was there last year (as were a few Impreza`s from memory), and don`t cost a great deal.

 

We were there last year and probably had the largest club stand at the show but there are two problems:

1. It clashes with an already arranged meet up in Élan Valley on the same day; 'The Big Welsh Meet'.

2. Last years show was in my and others opinions a bit of a joke with SWCC winning the best club stand with their collection of clown cars.

There were plenty of better stands at the show even the Ford stands were better , I know why SWCC were awarded the prize and it has backfired on the organisers now.

All the Ford clubs will be at Ford Fair on that day as well so it might well be a little quiet at Pembrey.

Yeah I know I did vent a bit of frustration at SWCC, I mean how can South Wales Caravan Club win, I mean 99% of those there "cars" were sheds.

But I`ll be there as I have to as I`m South Wales Area rep on vvoc, so hands tied. My Scoob will be there though on my other stand, so anyone who is coming can pop onto our stand if they want.

 

I think they picked the wrong day for this. I pretty sure the Ford guys are doing something that weekend and USC (The biggest car show in europe) at Santa pod is also on which is where I will be.

I`ll never go back to Santa Pod personally, all the money they plough into the place and its a $hithole. Last year I went to PVS (Performance Vauxhall Show) and it was like the Somme, refused us to go onto hard standing on tarmac even though there was room, and my 19 inch wheels got ruined, my paintwork scratched and dented, and cost me well over £800 to sort the problems.
So for that I`ll never go back.

And this was AFTER I had just paid £3 for someone to power wash my car.

Nice agresive looking vectra there, i'll be at the pembrey show (if it's not raining) would'nt mind getting on a stand if its possible and i'm sure a mate with his 350Z would also come, how'd i go about getting onto a stand?

You can come on mine if you want, it will be the stand next to the Vectras lol.
My Scoob should be there, so look out for that.

If you both want to, or wanna bring some more feel free. Our stand won`t be anything special, but saves on walking in from the car park lol.

 

So what do i do, arive early, pay at the gate and tell the attendants i'm on a stand yeah?

 

Yep, and tis from memory £5 for each car with a passenger for free. Or £3 per person when gate are open.

As last year gates open at 10 and we are allowed in at 9am to sort the stands out. Last year we met at J47 Penllergaer McDonalds, and went down in convoy.

 

Do you know if there is track time available, whats the cost and how do i book it?

 

Right can only go on last year, its was £45 and that was for most of the day and open pit. Had to be booked in advance by contacting Pembrey themselves before going.

Where do I recognize that Vectra from? I'm sure I gave some ignition leads to someone with a Vectra just like that in the lane behind my house?!?

 

Yep I timed up your daft Ka, only Ford Ka I know of with a 3.0 V6 out of a Vauxhall in it!!

Yeah no worries, when you get to the gate ask for VVOC/Rubba-Duck and when you get to the VVOC stand ask for Jim/Jimbob/James and I`ll find you some space. Try and get there early as saves any hassle from the organisers.

I`ll have my Welsh Flag flying again and its 4-5m tall pole, so you`ll see it with a Scoob under it.
