Anyone back to back a MD555 and SC40?

Default Anyone back to back a MD555 and SC40?

Hi all,

Trying to decide on a turbo, car is 05 STi UK.

Any views on pros and cons, i know the 555 is more expensive.

Depends on what you are looking for and what mods are on the car so far.

They are very different turbos and there are lots of others to choose from that may (or may not) be better suited to you.

Yes, to be honest, i was not expecting a clear answer.

The 555 is much more expensive, so i thought it would be clearly a superior product, but maybe it's not the case and it all depends on the application.

MD555 is a roller bearing Garrett unit, I believe that the SC40 is a billet version of the 20G and not roller bearing. The SC46 would be a better like for like turbo.
