Hi all, iv just bought an impreza turbo 2000 and the tax disc holder looks like its on it last legs. Iv bought another to fit but whats the wire coming from the original?? Is is something to do with the alarm?? Can i just snip it off??

 

I used to have a carphone kit that had the aerial built into a plastic tax disc holder - the wire ran down to the control unit hidden in the dash. Is that a possibility ? If its a MY99 Mica Red Saloon, could be my old car !!!

No mate its a mica blue wagon. It does have an old car phone kit (erricson) So it could be that. Just dont want to snip it off and find out iv buggered the alarm.

 

If it is a professionally fitted phone kit, then I suspect thats what it is. I don't know of any alarm (standard anyway) that uses a tax disc aerial.
