I need to go to London tomorrow to Kings Cross region (no obvious comments please). Is there a tube station South of London where I can park easily, preferably on a street, and get a tube into central London please?
Cheers, David

How South of London are you thinking?
Morden or Wimbledon is fairly South but parking a nightmare.
Being so far out you might as well pick a mainline station thats within zone 6 so you can buy a travelcard and get a fast train in.
Have a look here http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/lon_con.pdf and take your pick
My suggestion from local knowledge would be Coulsdon South, straight up M23/A23, there is a station carpark and its fast into London Bridge / Victoria. Best bet would be train to Victoria then kings Cross is about 5 stops up the Victoria Line.
If you go this route PM me since the carpark is a 2 min walk from station so not easy to find 1st time

Can park near Forest Hill station, train straight to Charing X then tube to Kings X or wherever you are going?
Can use my driveway if you want
Anywhere much further in, or near tube stations tends to be a nightmare because everyone is doing the same. Or further out like Jay said really.

Park at Gatwick airport, long stay - £10 a day. Then get on the Gatwick express up to London.
Most of London is now resident parking, most train station car parks are full already due to daily commuters, so not worth the bother.
Im based near Worthing and Ive done it many a time, cheap, quick and easy.

Many thanks for that Jay. TBH it's actually my daughter who is going for an interview for a part time job at her university, UCL, and she doesn't want to be late trying to find parking. We are down near Horsham so routes into London are typically A3 or A24 with M25/M4 for Heathrow. She could train in from near home but is travelling by road to Bristol after interview so parking nearer London makes sense.
I used to drive to Battersea area, park, and use Northern Line but nowadays the area is covered in yellow paint.
David
EDIT. Above posted before other helpful replies. I may get back to you Snazzers!

No worries David. There is usually some off street parking available in the mornings around Battersea ( I work near the stations)
Failing that you could always park in the estate I work in, if one of the nice people will lend me one of their permits lol
What time is the journey being made?

Interview is at 1 so I guess she would want to be at tube circa 11.30 give or take, returning around 2.30-ish.

If needing to be near A3 / M25 then there is Esher station, its mega quick into Waterloo but not sure of size of carpark. The Coulsdon South carpark is a public one and is huge.
Always try and help when I can

*booking fee applies, late arrivals will be charged at full daily rate. Surcharge may apply for transfers for onward travel. Snaz takes no responsibility for damage or theft from the car while parked at his work. One off charge of 1 foot long Subway sandwich applies for lunchtime parking deal......blah blah blah
