Many people laugh at me for this but I swear it works. after you have closed the hole they are using to get in get some Dominos pizza dips, leave them unopened on the floor and in the morning they will be filled with ants.

Not sure where they're coming in.

they'll have a nest outside, if you cannot block the entry points into the house, locate and destroy the nest including the ants, or they'll be a constant problem, and will likely be there year after year.

There are many home remedies that ants don't like, but they don't kill off the colony. Ants don't like Borax, chili powder, cinnamon, vinegar, and many other household substances, but often they'll just find a way around these things.
Get naked and set fire to yourself they might bugger off.

There's a rat in my kitchen ....

When you out on the street,
You practice lies and deceipt
And you scandalize my name
But when I catch you up
I'm gonna pull you up
I'm gonna check-out inside your brain
ant in my kitchen

We got invaded by those god awful flying ants - horrible looking things - 1000's of the bastids. Tried putting dust down - they just kept coming back. Was only sorted by pouring 10 kettles of boiling water down 3 holes in the garden where they were crawling out - must have killed the queen cos never been bothered by them since.

Think I'll give that a try.

We have some on the grass, they had a few 'sites' last year, but I can only see one this year (so far). Thankfully they don't seem to have invaded the house yet, but the little buggers are messing up the lawn, well more than we already have.
