hi pepole ben a long time since been on just brought myself a type r just need sum help and advice its just had a engine rebuild and has just started leaking oil just small drips every now and then seems its coming from sumwere near the cam cover was told it could be a rubber ring that goes on the oil pump and also was told it has fiberess head gaskets just wanted sum advice on this or if any1 is good with a spanner to help me out obv not for free any advice would be great thanks

well the bloke i got it off rebuilt it himself was a private buy

Any smells/smoke coming with the leak to indicate where it might be? Might have nipped a gasket on the rockers.

well i spoke to the bloke yesterday and he said he used one old seal on the oil pump but i had the burning oil smell once since then nothing its only small drips every now and then any1 whos good at this sort of thing

Not meaning to sound off but I hope you got it cheap and I'd be a bit worried if it was a home rebuild and some old gaskets had been used. Best to get it booked in with Extreme Scoobies, Mocom, AMC Chelmsford, Mr Clutch Chelmsford etc to get the gasket changed for starters and have it checked over. Do you have receipts for the parts that were bought for the rebuild?

i know mate be honest im almost on the verge of just selling it as i need a car i can use everyday without having to worry about it yea i rang up mr clutch but once again its trying to even find the time to go up there so if any1 wants a cheap lil project give me a call il take 3700 got years mot and 6 months tax numbers 07854506323
