Hi all, im just new to this forum, and still getting to know about subaru's. im more a honda man!

the other day i was driving through town and started hearing a clicking sound in 3rd gear. this then started in all the gears. today after getting it checked out, as i thought, discovered it was the gearbox.

I have a 95 import impreza WRX STI.

I have the opertunity of a gearbox from a UK spec RA. Will this fit fine?
would i have to change the rear diff atall?

im not clued up on an AWD diff atall

the chances are the diff ratios are different so it wont fit. Being a wrx import im pretty sure you should have a 4.111 final drive.

ok, may sound daft here, but how do i know if its a pull or push clutch?

 

Find the code on your gearbox, it's near the starter on a white sticker. Once you find that you can cross reference it with the chart to find out what box you have and what diffs you have. You can fit any box as long as the front and rear diff ratios are the same. The front diff is inside the box btw.

There is no such thing as a UK type RA, they were all imports.
