My question is. I have a 2ltr non turbo forester with cruise control. The gear box needs changing but i was wondering would an impreza gear box from the same MY fit with no cruise control as i dont really need it on the car? It would also save me around £500. You help would be very greatfull.

You would have to change the rear diff as well as the Forester has different final drive ratios and drop down gears compared to the impreza's.

Transmission spec on page SPC-3 (MY02 specs appear to be the same as MY01)

FYI Cruise control is an electronic system. The only connection with the gearbox is the vehicle speed sensor.
