turbo2000 99year dift ratio
hi all can anyone tell me what the standard rear diff ratio is in a 99/2000 classic impreza turbo , is it 4.11 or 3.9 ?????
we have put a new grearbox and diff in it together but the diff we had with it had different driveshafts to the ones in my car , so we put both in together to save confusion.
But now my car has failed mot on pass driveshaft loose into gearbox , the clip seans to be missing out of the diff that holds the shaft in , anyone else had this prob ???
So we were thinking of putting the original diff back in , but we are unsure if it would match with the gearbox ...
anyone got any info
cheers

The gearbox is wrong for your car, you should have a ty754 in (later and better one) as the ty752's are weaker
Plus do you know what the gearbox came out of?

As tony says, and assuming its a UK car, you should have a TY754VN1AA or 2AA with a 3.54 rear diff, looks like the box has been changed.
Are the two diffs physically different sizes, i.e one wider than the other at the rear, it could be that one may be an R180 and the other the smaller R160 in which case the shafts would be different. I dont think there were any different shafts for an R160 diff but the shafts are diffferent for the R180 unless of course as you suggest the circlip is missing.
