Anyone running DV delete on FMIC
Just wondering what to do? In the middle of finishing my FMIC off and was wondering if to keep with DV delete I currently run.
I'm not keen on the noise of Dump Valves/BOV's etc.
Can you run DV delete on a FMIC set up (CAIK too). MD321T turbo btw.
Car is getting mapped on Simtek ECU next week.
Cheers
Steve

Yes, you can run a FMIC with the DV blanked but check with the turbo manufacturer whether or not it is recommended for that particular turbo.

Thanks for the info guys.
I'm running a MD321 T ( GT30) so should be cool.
Thanks again.

A similar question was asked on 22b.com recently and the general opinion was that the MD321t is fine running with no dump valve.

there are pretty much no advantages with running no DV, it wears out the turbo allot quicker. not sure why people do it tbh

What size bung is required to blank off the hole in the inlet where the standard DV vents back to?

That´s what I thought as well, but my newage STI BOV doesn´t hold more than 1.8bar and I need to run 2.05bar.
The bung is a bit different on classic and newage, I guess newage use a 22-23mm bung and classics use 20mm.

Run it without the DV, it sounds epic..... better than any DV will ever sound!
It really doesn't do a major amount of damage to the Turbo if the manufacturer has said yes you can run it! The life will shorten slightly but nothing major.
I ran with no DV on my VF35 and AFTD05 18G, unbeatable

sounds like its on its way out then, i know plenty of cars pushing over 2bar with recirc or dv
p.s. they may not be standard ones though

Ally weld the DV hole on the FMIC piping and tap it for your Simtec Sensor
Thats's what I have in mine

I've run no DV with my MD555 and FMIC for last 3 years as daily driver. Just bunged off the FMIC take-off and the inlet to the turbo intake, job done. Works fine and sounds awesome
Allegedly boost response is better without a DV and a remap is recommended

Simon said the map will work with or without BOV.
Might test another STI BOV and see if it works.
But the S206 will be fine without BOV for sure.
I also had the feeling, that the car responded a bit sharper and better with the BOV return disconnected.

***Potentially silly question alert*****
What happens to the nozzle on the inlet that normally feeds the vacuum to dump/recirc valve?
Flame suit ready.....

Just close it or leave as is, as the bung in the pipe that goes back to the inlet will be shut off with a bung anyways.

If its just left, will it not leak pressure?

You will have to block it off

block it off.
and the vf35 should be fine dv less. as the 35+ series are the stronger turbos.

The pipe that comes from the BOV is the returnline and blocked off anyways, so you can either take the pipe on the inletpipe off and block it there or just the returnline that is not needed then anymore.
