Default Cam kit for MY98 Wagon!

Im wanting to change the cam belt and all the pulleys and tensioners and ive just phoned my mate for a kit and he can get me a Gates kit from Blue Print for £270!

I nearly fell through the bleedin floor!

Is this the going rate for a kit?
Or is there a trader on here that sells them cheaper?

Cheers,
Gareth.

Thanks for that bud.

Ive got 2 mates that work at motor factors and both are only able to get the kits from Blue Print. Bulseye are £290 and The Happy Motorist are £270. And thats for the full kit inc all the pulleys and tensioners etc.

Scooby Clinic supply them for £290 and £10 postage so its not far off right.

it is considering the price of the parts quoted in the link, if they are friends i would have thought the parts would be cheaper from them, at the end of the day its up to you who you use for parts.

Don't buy cheap crap to save £10-20 on the £240 from importcarparts, that £240 uses genuine subaru parts apart from the belt which is a dayco

You didn't buy an impreza to save money

Im not stupid mate!

I dont intend to buy cheap crap. But if i can get the same kit from someone else for cheaper then im gonna do it!

The first quote i got was for £290 from Bulseye and by putting this thread up on here, ive got it down £50.

And i didnt buy an Impretza to have headache after headache either.
But thats what seems to be happening!

Yeah the same guy contacted me and it sounds like a steal to me.

And i was wondering if anybody knew if i could fit a manual tensioner from the older EJ20 engine or would it need to be an auto tensioner from the facelift EJ20 engine?
