sorry can't help with the oil coming up thru the bov and dipstick but that does sound bad.......is there any unusual noise? who carried out the remap? what mods/power are you running?
I guess if the engines dead hold out for a used forged lump rather than an sti, there's loads of cars being broken since people can get more money this way than selling whole. I got a forged sti4 on a cdb and reworked heads with gt spec headers that had done 5k miles for £2.5k a few months back - I could have haggled a few hundred off but tbh its a good engine and I wanted it before someone else got it.

cheers for the reply pal, wel i only have 1500 to spend and its a WRX at 290bhp, work was carried out at wallace performance in aberdeen but other than that it was fine, engine has 80,000 and has always been looked after although i was thrashin her at the time to b honest.

as i said before i have £1500 to spend and i just want it sorted, iv been quoted 1480 for a STI V2 engine inc fitted, what you think?

Well 2nd hand engines are a mine field, wouldnt go that way personally, especially with companies like SMR or Ideal out there, would go for a rebuild but it will cost you a fair bit more than 1500 quid, you wouldnt be throwing your money away if you go to a decent place though
Oh and you need to buy like for like unless you just go for a bottom end.

cud be oil coming through heads, through throttle body and blowing out, or mayb be via turbo and intercooler and out. inspect it and find out where oil is coming from, id also do a compression test, make sure oil breathers are clear etc

i have a spare turbo? do you think it could just be that? how much would a garage charge for a compression test?

im not driving the car just now but the car still drives, theres no power and tries to cut out at times?

cheers again

Matty5br has a sweet engine for sale in the general sales section
check your breather pipes might be oil from the crank case breathers
cant you get wallace performance to have a look they should be able to diagnose it for you
