DEI or Thermotec, I have used this and seems good although I've not run the car yet, still waiting on some exhaust bits arriving

I used the copper impregnated heat wrap a few years ago, quite messy putting on when pre-soaked. Does anyone know why the copper impregnated wrap is better? Surley the copper would help dissipate the heat better so not retaining the heat in the exhaust. Seems a bit weird to me, or is that the Vodka talking!!!!
... Or if you're feeling flush, remove it and take it to these guys to do it properly;
