i have an Subaru Impreza STI version 2 555, but i wanted to know what individual coil-packs are and if my engine has got it, here is a pic below of my engine:

Yours has individual coil packs. They are located at each side of the engine covering the spark plugs x 4.
You will need to remove the windscreen washer bottle to get to the pass side one's and the air intake pipe/filter to get to the other 2.

 

very easy to tell, no coilpack on top of manifold and no ignition leads.

 

Were you thinking you need to change them??
