Fit an STI undertray and scoop too to get the best out of the intercooler.

Scoops are the same, but the undertrays are larger I believe.

Am trying to source one at present as have upgraded my WRX TMIC to an STI and want to maximise the cooling. The rubber only covers the centra section

what power are you runing?
your standard TMIC is good for over 300
so its a waste unless you going to run well over 300

Dont know about the hawkeye but the scoop is definately bigger on the bugeye. The STI undertray wont fit under the WRX scoop. I did this same job yesterday on mine.

I'm running 350/390 on my Hawk WRX. Think the OP is aiming to be somewhere near there too.

Hello all. I too have just got a sti tmic. I beleive the standard tmic is good for upto 350. I've had my wrx remapped and is at 278. New turbo next stage and I should be closer to that magic 350.

To be honest one of the reasons I've bought one is for cosmetics as I'm dressing my engine bay

does any know if there's a simple tutorial on changing this intercooler

cheers

Just another thing. The scoo size is standard on the hawkeye but the undertray isn't. All us wrx owners if we don't change this, there was no point buying a sti tmic

Second the comments on the importance of the STi undertray, if you keep the WRX undertray then you've basically got the same cooling surface as the old intercooler, which defeats the object. If you can't find an STi undertray then you may have some luck with the Zero/Sports cool action:
http://www.revolution247.com/engine-...e-79636-0.html
(Scroll down a little)
It comes in different models for WRX and STi, given that the scoop is the same on the hawkeye I don't see a reason why the STi one wouldn't fit on a WRX with STi intercooler, though probably worth checking before splashing the cash
