hi, i wounder if any 1 can help me, my gear had a little bank as i went in to 3rd gear, now there is a rattle noise and there is no longer a 3rd gear, any1 knows of this problem to happen to them, is it possible to get the gear box stripped down and sortted?

Had exactly the same thing happen.
The 3rd gear cog had stripped itself.
Found it far cheaper to get a 2nd hand one(with 6 month warrenty) from one of these 'dial-a-part' places,than a rebuild.
Was £250 delivered.

 

happened to me on wed far cheaper to get a second hand box than a rebuild.

If you put 'find a part' into google it will come up with loads of companys doing the same thing mate.
Heres one to be getting on with.....Find Car Engines Gearboxes & Parts- Find A Part UK
Do a few of them as there all email or ring you (you choose)and there prices can vary a lot.
I filled in about 5 companys and had about 20 boxs to choose from within the hour,ranging from £150 and nearly a grand...
