Default knock sensors, universal?

are the knock sensors on knocklinks universal fit too all cars, ie all the same design

seen one for sale off a celica thats practically brand new thats all

If your talking about the one on ebay for 100 quid, I've just got a brand new one from Harvey Smith and I seem to have a few additional bits compared to the pics. Hard to tell from the pic but the sensor itself looks larger on my kit.

What are you asking us here, what sort of sensor to use on a KnockLink, or whether you can replace the standard Subaru sensor that supplies the ECU with one off another car?

The KnockLink is designed to work with a Bosch wideband sensor and won't necessarily give reliable results if used with another type. You might find the Celica one will be suitable, but in order to be certain you'd ideally need to test it next to the "proper" one and see how its frequency response and sensitivity compares.
