hi can anyone out there help me figure out why my subaru impreza sti 1996 cutsout on hard acceleration in 3rd and 5th gears only sometimes in 5th this has only started happening after fitting a hdi front mounted intercooler although it was fine for the first two weeks or so with no cutout problems what so ever cheers

 

Your car will need to be remapped to take advantage of the cooler intake air. Cutting out is most likely boost cut, colder air allows more boost exceeding the safety cut off point. Get your car checked out by a specialist. Don't go using hard accelleration until then.

 

do u have a manual boost controller ? if not then a decat issue maybe ? lastly the solenoid is either bunged up or not functioning correctly
