Default Clutch time for a 290bhp 2.5l......

..some advice please for a Power Station modded 2.5 wagon. Clutch has just started to slip at near 40k miles (car's been modified since 15k miles).
Do I replace with a standard clutch? - or is uprated the order of the day?
also - anyone got an idea of fully-fitted costs? (for standard and uprated), also availability in the South Manchester Sale / Altrincham areas??
Sorry for all the questions so early on a monday morning, but if it's going to cost an arm and leg, need to have an idea in mind! - Cheers.
