Default Oil Leak Help please:(

Hi all,

Drove Impreza for the first time in a week and upon driving it started to smell of burning oil and could see smoke coming from under the bonnet.
I drove it straight back home (no warning lights or anything only about a mile) and inspected the car took the front cam covers off and the crank pulley. It seems as if the leak is from all 4 cam seals at once. Why did they all decide to go at once? Definately no oil coming from the front crank seal. To make things worse though on taking the front mount intercooler pipe work off, i found lots of oil in the intercooler piping leaking to the cold side of the turbo which was full of oil. My main question is if i replace the 4 seals and the turbo is it going to fix the problem or is there an underlying problem thats caused all that to go in the first place?

Thanks
Phil

cant see how all four seals have gone at once, unless the wrong grade of oil has been used? too thin maybe and is finding its way out though seals that normal oil wouldnt.

only other reason I can think of is excessive crankcase pressure pushing oil out through the seals. maybe a blocked crankcase breather or engine getting tired and breathing very heavy (blow by past the rings)
