Sky Box not receiving Terrestrial channels.... did before
Got a 2nd box (regular Sky box) upstairs - no skycard.
Used to get BBC1,2, ITV, Ch4 & 5.......
As of last night, don't get em any more.
Have Sky changed the T&Cs of FreeSat?

theres a subtle difference between FREE TO AIR and FREESAT.
No card means the box is, technically just showing FREE TO AIR
(even when a brand new box is installed, Ch5 isnt enabled untill the card goes in.) .

Dan, not relevant at all, but it's easier to ask you, and sorry for the mini hijack (if he answers).
If I want to switch to sky broadband from the sack of **** I'm with, and we want to go with their phone too, do we just get in touch and they will sort the phone out?
I know we need the MAC code to do the broadband stuff.

i got my broadband and phone via sky. for the phone, just call em, tell em, and they do the rest. if you go with the sky talk you get £5 off your bill too, and the call rates are pretty much the same as BT anyway. if you get your line rental through them as well, it'll save you a few quid each quarter as BT charge vat on top of your £10 a month, whereas sky don't.
it also means if you ever have to call their customer services for your tellybox, then its free instead of the dreaded 0870 charges from a BT line......
you might have to get the code for your broadband from your current lot and pass it on, but their broadband is ok. not the fastest but average for non-cable round here and pretty steady. i go WAY over my 20gb download limit and have done for years, but they've never mentioned it.

As highlighted above then.
With reference to my box (just a standard box with NO card).
I know that I haven't got access to ch5 until I put in a card, but I always thought that BBC1,2,ITV & CH4 were available on free-to-air.....
If so, any ideas why I can't get them any more?

** @ Lisa.yep, give them a bell and theyll let you know whats what, you will need to obtain your MAC number from your provider, but thats usually no biggie

no Dan, they've even disappeared from the Planner. It's as if they've never existed.
On the premium channels (sky1 etc) yeh, it says insert card.
Still got access to BBC3 though.... just lost the "terrestrial" transmissions.

tried a software update?
hold in 'back up' button on the box... NOT the remote... keep it held in, pull the plug.. wait a couple of seconds, (for those of you with plus or HD units allow time for the drive to spool down) then STILL HOLDING THE BACK UP BUTTON IN, re power the unit, keep holding the button in untill you get four lights across front of unit (and possibly a message on screen ) then let button go.
