Default Sidelights

Hello, Just in the process of painting my sidelight units black as i thought i might as well do them as i'm doing my headlights. Just wondered if anyone else has done them and is it ok to paint all the reflective smooth silver part of the housing and leave the ruogh reflective part where the bulb sits (if you know what i mean ) Any pics would be nice. They are off a 98 v4 non crystal.
Cheers for any help,
James.

You may find that your car wont be road legal when doing so, and it will fail its mot/spot checks as you will be reducing the light output of your headlights/parking lights.

Hello Tony and thanks for the reply.
So the painted sidelight and headlight units that can be bought new are not road legal, I've seen a few on here that are fitted and know mention of problems and seen threads about Diy black headlights. Just want to make sure before doing.I will only painting the surround of the headlight, just wanted to know how far to go with the sidelight unit.
Cheers,
James.
