if mods could leave this here for a bit please, trying to get a bit of coverage
got a problem with a drop link on the car https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...lp-please.html and i think the only way forward is to have it off the car and get it back together.
but am i wasting my time? is it a repairable item?
and the big one, will it be a pain to get off? the nut round the back of the top piece looks a right git to get to.
any help or pointers will be much appreciated

Getting them off isn't too hard but air gunning them off is preferable unless you have a thin spanner to hold the flat washer while you undo the nut. The boots are quite easy to pinch, which will see grease escaping and the link damaged. If it were me I would fit some KLC 32's an bin the OEM links, I never liked the lateral movement they allow anyhow.
Whatever you choose WD40 them well, the hardest job is half way through undoing them when the spanner holding the flat washer starts to move about with the exposed thread, and is the most likely time you'll pinch the boot.IMHO

the flat washer 53WRX, this is the other side of the bar right behind the boot in this pic?

and this has to be held to undo the nut?
at the moment i'm just trying to get it all safe, if it all comes off i can't see why just re-inserting the blue bit back into the cup won't be ok, but then again why did it come out in the first place?
as they're the same price as OE are these the ones to go for? Scoobyparts Ltd WHITELINE ALLOY FRONT DROP LINKS TBH though, on their own with otherwise std suspension (apart form Prodrive springs) is it worth going away from OE? would they wear out quicker for example?
Hiya, yes go for the KLC32's definitely worth it mate.
Do what this fella says, mine were clearly different OEM ones or they were so rusted I had no hole for an allen key or hex head .
