Default MY98 WRX IMPORT BEST OIL

Bought a MY98 import just over 6 months ago should have bought one years ago and am going to do a service, i have read many reports of knocking occuring after an oil change. I do have a mechanical knowledge, just was wondering what is the best oil to use and any special procedures i should adopt.

use any decent 10/40 semi,

oil change procedure, drain+refill oil, fill oil filter, start the car, drive the car, enjoy the car.

Hello mate I've got a 95 WRX running about 320bhp+300lbft and I only use Motul 300V 15W50 the scooby specialist I use got me on it and it hasn't missed a beat on the stuff in 5 years (touch wood!!!) so I'd recommend that lubricant, they also do good diff and gear box oils that I use in my car. Hope this helps you mate. How you finding your car?
Ben.
