That is horrendous (the break, not Pauls joke ). It's the way he continues to slide on his leg after the break

It was nasty

The Journal understands that Sunderland had a scouting delegation in Belgium to watch Anderlecht’s Poland defender Marcin Wasilewski over the weekend, and the Black Cats could move for the tough-tackling attacking right-back with 38 caps for his country.

Gav, sometimes used in tackle identification, also gives a good impact on fresh referees. Career ending tackles are an unfortunate part of our game, our job is to identify, possibly prevent and deal with such - it is difficult.
I have witnessed as an AR on a local level a tackle that has ended a player's career, I hope never to see one ever again.

No, they're not nice, but shouldn't be ignored, they are the dark side of our beautiful game and IMHO, players who cause injury in such a manner and in a deliberate way should not be allowed to play again.

You certainly do need a stomach to witness these kinds of things, one innocent yet horrific injury occurred, again in grass roots and right in front of me when I was AR.

The player tried to gain control of the ball to prevent it going out, he rolled his ankle over the ball and snapped it. The bone was exposed as he had managed to rip through his sock. He was white with shock and barely made a sound when it happened. Due to how the ankle was resting, he could not be moved and had to be moved as is by the paramedics.

A lot of players could not face looking at it and the player knew it was bad.

I believe he hasn't returned to park football since.

Another unfortunate one (again I was AR!!!) and this time Premier League - two players challenging for the ball, both try to kick it and strike the ball whilst it is just above the ground, however one of the player's tibia and fibula gave way - you could hear the bone crack from the other side of the pitch which is where I was - it sounded like a gun shot, sent shivers down my spine.
The player returned the next season.
