From: Trying to balance the budget as running two Scoobies
Anyone running one of these in a rotated position with external wastegate? Some real world info and dyno results would assist.
Have settled on this for my hillclimb car as need between 450 & 500bhp only, with response and earlier spool. Prepared to sscrifice top end as hardly ever use on hillclimbs. Will not run anti lag as the Electromotive TEC3 ECU does not support.
Not sure whether to run a smaller housing of 0.63 or go 0.82. Worried that with the smaller turbine housing may get surge. I get surge with the GT35 with 0.62 housing at the moment.
Stroker 2.2l with all necessary mods done. Produced easy 440whp at 1.8bar with GT35 although very laggy in the twisties.

Turbo Technics S206? bolt on turbo, 500 bhp on our 2.1. We fitted one recently in place of a GT3071, and the owner says it's better everywhere.

pavlo you just mapped Bills car 2weeks ago on a S206 how did you find it? he seems very chuffed with the turbo and admits it feels a lot better than his previous AET GT30.

Definitely staying rotated. Have been since 2001 as back then it was the only way to get power.
Thinking of going smaller for response with the GT3071 and use race fuel to get it close to 500. Only 5 hillclimbs a year so no great impact on the wallet running race fuel. Could go the 3076 route and get the 500 with the 100 octane pump fuel but I need response and the 3071 may be that little bit quicker.
The last hilllclimb killed me with 48 second gear corners. The guy who came second or third only has 450bhp -500bhp against cars with 600+ but it launches out of corners quicker than anything else.
Will keep the GT35 for any drag racing that we might do someday in Cyprus.

Oh, if you're rotated already, there would be no gain in going back, but we think there isn't that much in it.
We prepare an Impreza for the current ASWMC hillclimb championship leader, Steve Clarke, who is having another very impressive season, with a couple of FTD's and class records under his belt.
We have another four cars in various stages with S206 builds going on, so we should have some more figures out soon.
