Can you tell us a bit more about what your car is doing or not doing, and what specific error code you've got?

On the face of what you've said so far, if an injector is failing, there is an obvious risk of the cylinder associated with it running lean under boost, and if that's happening there certainly is potential for damage.

FWIW you don't need a garage to read fault codes off a classic shape Impreza. You can do it yourself just by connecting two plugs under the dash together and reading the light flash sequence from the check engine light. Search for "black plugs" and all will be revealed.

Hmmm. Before you go any further, especially shelling out on injectors and the labour to change them (you could do this yourself in an hour) with this garage, I'd try the black plugs procedure and tell us what error code number(s) you get.

Yes, two slow flashes and two quick ones = code 22, one slow flash and seven quick ones = code 17. You've got it!

Garage didn't spot the knock sensor one then did they? Iffy position to be in that, as a failing injector might cause a lot of knock, and if your knock sensor is erroring... Wouldn't drive the car too much until you can have it looked at properly.

Yeah that's fair comment, injectors are pretty easy to pull and refit - probably quicker than spark plugs. Have you asked Mark at Lateral Performance how much he'd charge to give them a look over? Probably the best place to start.
