Checking Gear box oil

Default Checking Gear box oil

Im getting a crunch when shifting in to 2nd when the revs are high, low revs its fine. How do I check the gear box oil as Iv never done this?

If its a classic Subaru like mine then on the drivers side there is a dip stick to the right of the turbo. It has a bent shaft and ring end and if you still have the top mount intercooler then it will be just underneath that. Good luck and if it's low I believe you can top it up through the dipstick tube but you have to pour the oil in really small slow amounts otherwise it will go everywhere. Hope that helps

Whoops my mistake. Yes it is a classic. Have a frount mount fitted so hopefully it sould make it easier. Thanks for that.
