Unhappy MY00 Turbo 2000 - Worried and need advice... :(

Hi,

When slowing down I seem to be noticing a rubbing noise (as if your brake pads were out) but I am not actually on the brakes. It is only noticeable at slow speeds but is also noticeable when turning left or right at slow speeds whilst not braking. Could there be a problem with the diff of gearbox?

My pads on the front are low and are getting replaced next week during the 60,000 mile service but I can't see how it could be them as I can hear it without even touching the brakes...

Help!...

I did just think that whilst walking the dog! Is it a difficult/expensive job? Or just the usual?

Gonna get my mechanic to have a look next week during the service..

Sticking pads/calipers or bearings.

It's not the wear indicators on the front pads, is it?

I hope it is just something like that. We shall see when the pads are replaced on Wednesday.

Gonna get my mechanic to check play in the bearings too just in case.

Getting the car back today from the garage.

Turns out that a piston in each front caliper was seized which in turn was causing the rubbing. Had the calipers fully re-furbed so all is good. Worry over

Thanks for all the advice guys!
