Right last month my xbox 360 60gig hard drive got the 3 red lights , i sent it back to microsoft and they replaced it with a brand new console . ive pluged the old hard drive in and it says ive only got 20 gig hard drive .. it says in one of the menus re format hard drive ??? what does that meen ??? do i have to do this to get my 60gig back ??? as the hard drive has all my old saves on it ???????

If you returned the HD you're buggered,you will not get your other HD back (i found this out to my cost when my first one failed,when the second one failed i asked the helpline and was told just the console was to be returned not the cables or HD).

 

formatting will erase everything! is it not possible that you only have 20gb left on the hard drive?

 

i only sent the console back not the hard drive , so i put my old hard drive on the new console and its come up with i only have a 20 gig hard drive , since ive been on xbox live i only have 5.7 gig free , when i go in to settings and press memory it says its only got about 20 gig ??????????? when in my old console i had 60 gig ?????????

 

Define "Got about 20 gig"


A 20gig drive only gives you about 13gig of space, even when new......


I dont know how anybody can manage with a 20gig drive anymore, i only have 60gig worth of space on my 120gig drive


My Graw2 folder is around 9.8gig in size
My mate has a 20gig drive and has to juggle his map packs and stuff as he is always running out of space

 

on my old console i had 60 gig but when its on this new console sent to me by microsoft it is saying its only a 20 gig hard drive and i only have 5.6 gig free ....well confusing lol...

Yes, you can get a transfer kit from MS

or you can usually pick them up on fleabay quite cheap, although they are free from MS

Mine took around 7 days, although i read some horror story's on here about it taking a month, so painstakingly transferred everything over 1 at a time via memory card, then re downloaded all the map packs, the very next day, the ****en ******* transfer kit arrived from MS
