58mm TURBO INTAKE... OR 76mm ???
At what sort of power levels, etc. does a 76mm turbo intake become NECESSARY, instead of an OEM-sized 58mm one?

Lateral offer them in
either 58 or 76mm... so not all MDs out there will have 76mm intakes.

Ive got a 58mm MD321T and just made 450.5bhp with 410lbs/ft

Looks like a 76mm is only
really required for big power or, say, to produce the goods on a 2.5....

I was advised by Mark to go with a 58mm intake on a 321T (which will be running around the 450bhp mark). Can't remember what reason he gave, but it made perfect sense at the time.

I read somewhere that unless absolutely necessary for the horsepower aimed for, then don't run a 76mm intake, as it could promote compressor surge.
So only go 76mm if absolutely required.

That's right - 76mm only required for BIIIG power it seems.
