Mine comes back at the same price, but its a little rarer than yours as they dont make the numbers on this one any more (plus another site valued mine at 1500 quid )

No offence meant just surprised at there valuation / fees, do they honestly think that a plate like that would fetch that type off money ?? have seen plates with a single number and ending in wrx ie. N1WRX fail to get £200 never mind anymore.

but yep I suppose this is how they make there money, there is a plate I have got my eye on just now, just an ordinary run off the mill irish plate that would run consecutivly with my other cars plate, the plate is being sold on more than one site and is being sold at anything between £250 to £450, even though I only paid a tenner + transfer fees for the one I have here off a dealer on ebay, pity I could not get in touch with the owner off the plate as I am sure he would rather sell it at any price than have some reg plate company asking what would seem a silly amount off money for a plate that more than likely wont sell.

good luck with your sale mate, personally would seriously consider lowering your price to around £200 if you are seriously planning on actually selling it. am sure others with similar " wrx " plates will also advise the same.

Im not for a min saying thats what I expect to get! Just posting the valuations as and when they come in!

I was stunned as anything when I got that 1st valuation (heance why I've asked for a couple)

Just had another valuation from carreg . com £699 (again including their commission etc)

Im just looking for somebody to make me an offer, and when I say 'sensible offer' I mean something other than 50p and half a pound of grapes!

Thats why I came here! You guys would know the worth of a WRX plate, and its more likely that a WRX owner would want a WRX plate. If I was hanging out for loads of ££ then I would just stick the reg on a retension certificate and sit on it, but I want to sell

Well, I suppose they want to make a healthy cut too, and who knows those numbers you omit may be of interest to somebody ( eg T 478 WRX could be a guy called tony born in april 1978 ..... ok maybe im clutching at straws )

Im just looking for offers..... hey, maybe someone has a rare rally cross porche 911 and this is just the plate they always wanted lol

Heh heh..... Don't I just know it!

My original thought was someone called Neil (with some carefully placed off-colour screws N 9 i l) who owns a WRX......... (I know N311 would probably be better!)

Oh well, I'll float about till someone makes an offer.......

Surprised nobody has made an offer, as has been stated by someone else here, I would much rather see this go to a wanted home rather than swallowed back by the DVLA

Worth trying Pistonheads mate ?? notice there are a good few plates for sale on there, again stick a decent price on here ie £150 upwards and you may just attract a buyer. sales involving offers for some reason often never seem to go anywhere.

a short while back a seller on here almost gave there wrx plate away, sure they asked £50 plus transfer fees in the end ??!!

from checking various private sale adds ( ebay / pistonheads etc ) for wrx plates it would seem single number plates are going or should I say being advertised at £250 upwards.

good luck and again please no offence meant with my posts just trying to help you out a little as I see you are a new member on here - welcome aboard !!

I'm a private seller, and I've not done this before........

All I know is the DVLA charge £80 for the transfer (via a simple form) and it probably makes more sense for the buyer to sort that side out rather than the seller..........

(Obviously I would provide all the required info etc from my side!)

Why you interested fella???

Right, I'm no expert myself! lol

From what I gather the DVLA will issue retension cert's if you don't want to use it straight away, it really just boils down to how long you think you will be retaining it for.......

To transfer from one vehicle to another the fee is £80

To put it on a retension cert is £105 for one year, £130 for two years, £155 for three years. (though you could just put it on retension for a year then pay £25 to extend it for each year).

If nobody wants to beat your offer then I think we may have a deal Then I guess we just have to sort out payment methods and how we are actually gonna sort out the transfer!

**Edit, just found out the retension price of £105 actually breaks down as £80 for the transfer and £25 for the years retension
