Default What else do i need for 6 speed conversion.

Just bought a 2003 U.K non DCCD 6 speed box TY856WN3CA and prop to fit to my 2005 WRX.

Can i use my existing diff ?

Will i need rear diff half shafts and rear hubs ?

You can use the rear diff and shafts as is, not sure but you might have to swap the front shafts as I suspect a 2005 WRX has the shafts with male stubs on the inner CVs. You could get 2001-2004 sti front shafts to solve that if it's the case, there is a slim change you could pull the male stubs out the gearbox, change to the later seals and use your WRX shafts, but it's not a combination I've offered up to try.

I've been told my front shafts should be o.k but i must have the stubby shafts that stick out of the gearbox. ( which i don't have )

Front stubs for the gearbox are about £70+vat per side, you also need the C clips to go on them and the correct size of shaft seal.

Pick up the box tommorow and after a chat over the phone i've been told that it does in fact come with

Slave Cylinder
Clutch Fork
Stub shafts for centre diff.

So i just need to find a 6 speed linkage if anybody know's of one going cheap.

You will struggle to get a linkage, and may have to buy new, but they are not rediculous money for a full sti linkage.

get some earlier WRX shafts and buy the stubs, clips and seals for 6 speed. That or get the sti shafts, but be aware that the wagon has the narrower lower arms at the front so you might have problems with the shafts being too long.

Thanks for the advice i already had the stub shafts clibs etc.

I went down to see David at API and he sorted me out with some 2003 sti front shafts. Didn't have any drama's with the wagon lower arm's and am now up and running !!

It'll take some getting used my forged 2.5 lump seem's to have me forever changing gear !!
