there are 2 routes I tend to take to Nottingham. If I want a stress free cruise, I take the M54, M6, M42, A42, M1. If I fancy a bit more interest I head up the M54 to Junction 1, up through Cannock then A5,A38(?) up past Burton onto the A50, then onwards into Nottingham.

I don't know how long it takes to get through Cannock on a Sunday morning, but it has taken me between 5 and 30 minutes to get from the Shell garage to the mini roundabouts. If it's fairly quiet before 11am, I'm up for meeting you there. Chris, Paul, how about you 2?

Edited, cos I've just realised that if you wanted a motorway cruise too, we could meet you off Junction1 of the M54 just as easily.

I dont mind either way, I take your point about the motorway being stress free (once we are past junction 10) & its better if cars are in convoy. so we can meet you at junction 1 M54 if thats ok with you guys.

When I see you I'll explain how to avoid the run from the Shell (optimax) garage down to the "silly isles", its worse now with the BNNR roadworks.

Okay,
I now propose that we have 2 meeting places.

1/ Tesco's car park, Wellington Retail Park (M54 J6), 10.15 for a 10.30 departure.

2/ The Large lay-by on the A460 south bound, just north of the village north of the M54 at J1, at 10.45.

Hopefully this should give us plenty of time to make Gunthorpe for 12.30. Feel free to comment.
