Default NewAge STi seats - blob & bug better than hawk?

I'd go as far as calling the seats in my hawkeye STi 'chairs' to be honest, they offer that little side support. I have, on several occasions, jumped out of a race car and in to the STi and nearly fallen out the first time I come to a corner.

I've was planning to change them for Evo VII, VIII or IX seats but am concerned that they could be a real PITA to fit, so thought I'd go for earlier newage STi seats- in the hope the side support will be more substantial.

I've been offered some by a chap off SN who I'm going to ring tomorrow, but want to check the general opinion first rather than mess him about and waste his time.

In one word - YES.

Hawkeye seat ****e as are missing the bolster in the middle and the bolsters are smaller also, more like WRX seats. I have compared a few.

Better ones to go for are 03/04 STI ones as they have the bolster in the middle and have more supportive sides or JDM seats, although they a slightly narrower.

I have a four point harness in mine and it holds me well tight in the seat, I don't think I would fall out on a corner

Also consider EU blobeye wrx seats. They're the same hump/width/style as the better sti version, only none alcantara (sp?) black..

As time has gone on Subaru have followed a one seat fits all approach, unfortunately when that includes the good old US of A we all end up with lard **** sized seats..

Have you tried the seats in the new hatch they are really bad and flat, very dissapionted when I took the car out for a test drive, I just can't understand why subaru would put seat with no support in a performance car.
You could have got so like mine I have a corsa VXR they are recarro's there is often some on sale on ebay
