The clutch on my MY99 UK turbo (34k on clock) has started slipping and is accompanied by a burning smell, even after only 'moderate' driving. The 3 year warranty finishes in June and I was wondering if anyone else has had their clutch replaced under warranty because of the same problems?

How long on 'average' should an OE clutch last?....questions, questions!!

Cheers
Rich

Based on Perth, Western Australia Subaru dealers i'ld say ya chances range from Buckleys to SFA. I don't know about in the UK but from what I've heard (and based on experiences with other problems) Subaru dealers will take anyway possible out to not have to replace a part. If you were here you'ld get the "Your airfilter and exhaust mods broke your electronic mirrors!" (the blame it on any and all mods possible), through to "Warranty doesnt cover wear and tear!" (Although in your case i'ld say wear and tear is a fair assumption). I've had my MY00 for almost 2 years and am pretty much ready to ditch the Scoob (it will be the heardest thing i could do). I think my clutch is on the way out already and am not even planning to bother taking it to the dealer.

So you were looking for a reply... well there's one for ya (though pbly totally unrelated as it's from the other side of the world )
