Default heat sheild

hi all, im new here. i have a 52 plate sti running about 350 bhp!. i took it for a spin the other day and when i was turning in round a bend (slowly) the steering locked in that position for a split second, when i got it back home i checked the uj's on the steering column they were fine but what i found was the heat sheild on the turbo side completely loose and hitting the lower uj joint, now the question is can i remove the sheild or does it need to be there

yes you can remove it, but you will get more heat soak into the engine bay.

you could all ways fit a turbo jacket. this is like heat wrap that you wrap around the exhaust side of the turbo. harvey smith on this forum sells them

thanks

Just remember posting a question at this time on a Saturday evening will always take a while to be replied to. Most of us are down the pub and those of us at home are probably asleep, form being down the pub earlier

Don't take it personally and a big welcome to SN
